GlossyBox December 2011

Rituals Yogi Flow Foaming Shower Gel
I love the smell of this and you only need the tiniest amount to get a really good lather.
I would definitely re-purchase and I'm intrested in trying some of the other scents.

Deborah Lippmann Nail Laquer in Razzle Dazzle
The consistency was a little thin on first coat but the second coat covered beautifully and the shade itself is very pretty, a dark purple base with a raspberry shimmer.
The lasting power was really good too and when I took it off 4 days later it hadn't chipped one bit!

Cargo Lip Gloss in Tokyo
A lovely pinky coral shade with gold shimmer, it felt nice and smooth and wasn't sticky but pigmentation is quite sheer which is a shame because it's a pretty colour.

Me Me Me Seventh Heaven
I almost bought the full size of this and I'm so glad now that I didn't,it's not a bad product as it moisturises well enough and provides a good base for makeup but for me the strong citrus smell is very off putting.
It almost as the same sort of scent as a lemon wood polish and those kinda scents literally make me feel sick, if you like citrus you will probably enjoy this product.

Blink + Go Long lasting Black Mascara
Love the fact that this is a full sized mascara but this did nothing for my lashes, no volume or length and it made my lashes feel really dry and crispy. Not a fan!

Boudoir Prive/Joliebox December 2011

As most of you know Boudoir Prive as merged with Joliebox and this months box turned out very well,
the new box design is sleek and compact and it's packed to the brim with goodies.

OPI Gold Shatter Nail Laquer
I was super happy to see this included in this months box as I was looking to buy this full price.
OPI make the best crackle polishes on the market, they go on smoothly and give an even finish and this particular shade is exceptionally pretty.

New ID Cosmetics Lip Gloss
Another item I really love, it's one of the nicest nudes I own, almost a golden nude.
It glides on smoothly and isn't sticky or heavy and it smells lovely too.

Mitchell and Peach Shower Wash
Haven't used this yet but it smells nice (fresh and herbal) and the packaging looks very expesive and reminds me of Jo Malone.

Jane Iredale 24-Karat Gold Dust in Rose Gold
This supposed to be a multi-purpose powder that you can use anywhere were you want a little added shimmer however this particular shade is to dark and to red to be used that way.
It look beautiful as a blush and would probably look okay on the eye but that is it, it's a great quality product nonetheless.

Swatches of the gloss and shimmer powder.

Yonka Vital Defence Anti Age Moisturiser
I've wanted to try this brand for so long and it certainly doesn't disappoint.
The cream felt light, it's easily absorbed and my skin felt hydrated all day, it's also a great base for make up.
Not sure how it would work in terms of anti ageing as I don't have any wrinkle to test it on plus the sample is kinda small.

Joliebox Concealer Brush
A nice little extra and it's actually a decent quality brush.

Kusmi Tea
Another nice little added extra, I haven't tried this either yet but it's smells nice but looks very messy.

What did you this of this months JolieBox? What brands would you like to see included in the future?

Feel Unique Beauty Box December 2011

This is my first Feel Unique Beauty and I'm quite pleased with it!
The selection of products is okay (no make-up though) and I love the box it comes in, nice and compact and perfect for storage as the box slides out like a draw making it perfect for stacking on top of one another.

Annick Goutal Mandragore Eau de Toilette
Not really the type of scent I would pick out for myself but it's not bad just very unusual, kinda herbal and very strong.

Clarisonic Nourishing Care Cleanser
This is targeted to dry skin and I have combination to oily but I've found it still works okay for me.
I takes of my make up off quite well but it stings my eyes, so you need to be careful.

TIGI Bead Head Sugar Dust
This is one of those root boosting powders that provide loads of volume and soak up some of the oils on greasy roots, it feels light and non sticky unlike a lot of these powders can be.

Figs & Rouge Balm
This is an okay multi-purpose balm but I cannot use it on my lips because of the strong floral smell.
I love the little cute tin it comes in.

Nails Inc in Oxford Circus
This is a nice shade of baby pink (I actually have the full size) but I hate these mini bottles as the brush is so short and thin it makes application a nightmare.

What do you think of the Feelunique Beauty Box?

Carmine December 2011

I'm been little disappointed with Carmine past couple of boxes, their first box was amazing but I've not been that impressed with the contents since.
I haven't actually tried any of the products this month mainly because I'm trying to use up a few other bits before I open more so this post is probably not going to be very interesting.

Waleda Pomegranate Creamy Body Wash
I have the matching body oil so I'm oping this smells the same, I will use this as soon as I'm out of my other shower gel.

Japonesque Smudger Brush
I already have two of these type of brushes and I don't like them so this is most likely going to go to my sister.

KMS California Freeshape Quick Blow Dry
This product sounds quite promising as it supposed to make blow drying easier and cutting time by 50% and anything that speeds up the styling process of my hair is okay with me.

Institut Esthederm Time Technology Cream
Promises to give you an instant glow and provide deep moisturisation, I'm keeping this sealed as it's the perfect size for travel and will come in handy for holidays.

MyFace Cosmetics Blingtone  Eye Shadow
I got this in shade Crystalline Green and while a it's a pretty shade it's not one I would wear often.

There was also a sort of bonus item in this months box in the form of a voucher for a FREE Brow Threading at Benito Brow Bar which again I wont be using.
I used to have my brows done by them and they ended up making them to thin so now I go either go to Blink Brow Bar or I do them myself.

I think out of all the beauty boxes I'm currently subscribe to this as ended up being the one I enjoy the least and I will probably give them one more try and then cancel my subscription.

What did you think of the December Carmine box?
BTW Happy New Year to you all, hope you've had a fab night!!

GlossyBox November 2011

I must admit that I was a little disappointed  with the contents of the November Glossybox, they aren't bad but I just found them kinda boring and there's were no make-up items either.

Monu Recovery Blam
This is wonderful product if your skin is looking dull and it needs a boost. It smells gorgeous too.

Arbonne Ultra-Hydrating Hand Cream
This is a decent enough and cream and it absorbed quickly into skin. I like these little sample size tubes because they are good to pop into you handbag.

Nail Rock Designer Nail Wraps
Lovely pattern but an absolute pain in the ass to apply! I managed to do 4 fingers and then I got frustrated with how tricky they are to put on so I took them back off.
I love the idea of nail wraps but it's not for me.

Dead Sea Spa Magik Bath Salts
Have used these before and they do work well for relaxing you and making your skin feel soft but they are quite a "plain" product.
You may want to add some nice smelling oil or something to the bath water when using these.

Serge Lutens L'Eau Serge Lutens & Vitrol D'Oeillet
Didn't like either one of these, just not my kinda scent.
I do think there should be some sort of option on the Glossybox site (and for all of the other beauty boxes too) were you can indicate what sort of fragrances you like (sweet, fresh, oriental). Fragrance is so personal and so easy to get wrong and that would help narrow the choice down.

Carmine October & November Boxes

I'm so sorry that I'm so late with this one but I literally have not had time, were already well into December and here's me blogging about Carmine's October and November boxes. Better late than never, right?

I'll keep it brief as I'm sure you've saw a ton of posts for these anyways.

October Box

Trind Nail Repair Natural
This is one of the few nail strengtheners that actually works, I've used it for about a month now as my base coat and my nails haven't broken or chipped once.

Balance Me Super Moisturising Hand Cream
I like it but wish it absorbed faster, best suited as a night treatment, the smell is a bit too strong too.

Caudalie Vinosource Quenching Sorbet Creme
I absolutely love this, smells great, hydrates really well and absorb quickly, I've actually used this up already which is an indication of how much I love it. Full review to follow.

Daniel Sandler Eye Delight in Peach
This is supposed to be a loose shimmery eyeshadow but I've been using it as a cheek highlighter and I prefer it that way, as an eye colour it's too light and doesn't suit me.

The Balm Frat Boy
This as become my new "go to" blush, it goes with any look and because it's matte it looks really natural on the skin, love it!!

November Box

Cosmetics A La Carte Brow Ink
This is amazing! It give the most natural finish, does not budge and the shade would suit just about everyone.

New ID Cosmetics i-pout in Damson
Love the concept of these (the lipstick as a little mirror and a light for on the go application) but it's not my kinda shade, plummy tones do not look flattering on me so unfortunately this will sit unused.

Neom Organic Body Lotion
This was okay, nice light texture but really moisturises well, however I'm not keen on the smell. It's not a bad scent it's just not one I'd want to smell like, it's a bit to herbal and strong.

Lulu Time Bomb Flashback Night Cream
Again this is okay but I don't have much use for it given the fact that this is marketed for someone with older skin.
It absorbed quite well and smelled nice but it didn't do anything special for my skin and I much prefer my current night time product that I'm using.

Dainty Doll Eyeliner Pencil
I'm not a coloured eyeliner kinda girl so I've not bothered to try this, plus I've read on other blogs that the quality isn't that great either.

All in all I loved the October box as there were a lovely selection of products and they all performed really well, not so keen on the November box but this is the gamble you take with all beauty boxes.
